  • FILM KLUBB event 1/31 Our first installment of Nordisk Film Klubb is THIS TUESDAY, January 31st.  We will be showing the 3rd and 4th episodes of the wildly popular Norwegian reality show, Alt for Norge.  This is a continuation of the series we started showing in Fall Quarter.  All are welcome to join the fun.  The daytime meeting is set for 11:00 am with a sack lunch and desserts.  The evening session will start at 6:30 pm with a potluck dinner.  We will watch the programing while we eat.

  • Winter Quarter 2012 Winter Quarter classes are underway.  It may not be too late to join depending of the level you are interested in.  Please contact us about late enrollment.  A prorated tuition schedule is available.

  • CLASS REGISTRATION: Registration for each of the language courses takes place in class.  All you need to do is show up.  We do not do any pre-registration.  Tuition payment and text fees are due within the first three weeks of the quarter.  Payment can be made in cash or by check.  The tuition payment is made out to the Scan. Lang. Inst. / your text fees are due directly to the teacher.

  • SPRING QUARTER CLASSES The spring session of language classes is set to begin the week of March 19th and run 9 weeks.  The new schedule will be posted on the Schedule/Levels/Location page by the end of February.

The Scandinavian Language Institute offers language instruction classes to the general public in various levels of Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and Icelandic.

Class levels include Beginning, Know-A-Little, Intermediate and Advanced.  These are scheduled each quarter throughout the school year.  There are both daytime & evening classes in 4 locations around the Greater Puget Sound area.

More than just an educational facility, we offer many special services to both students and the general public.

The Scandinavian Language Institute, a Washington State non-profit corporation and tax-exempt organization, is located in the Seattle Community of Ballard at the Nordic Heritage Museum, 3014 NW 67th St.. Other classes meet in Seattle (Ballard),  Bothell, Edmonds, and Everett. 

The Scandinavian Language Institute gladly welcomes students of any race, color and national or ethnic origin to attend classes.
